Why Jalen Milroe was the best option of the 2025 NFL Draft for the Seahawks
Seattles QB of the future was the right choice
The Seahawks selected Jalen Milroe, quarterback out of Alabama, with the 92nd pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. This pick seemed to be an obvious choice, as the Seahawks needed a fresh new rookie in the quarterback room to accompany newly acquired Sam Darnold.
Seattle was the perfect landing spot for the former Alabama quarterback. Draft scouts touted that Milroe was a great outside of the pocket player, but he’s lacking the accuracy, decision-making, and discipline inside the pocket that a starter NFL quarterback requires.
This is the typical late-round QB draft selection that we see every year, but Seattle is where Milroe can develop into a starter in this league.
When it comes to team needs, looking long term, this was the right choice. Seattle thrives off of having a mobile quarterback, who can scramble and run, similar to a Lamar Jackson or Michael Vick style player.
Jalen will be able to sit behind Sam Darnold for at least this upcoming NFL season, with the possibility of getting some in-season reps, and almost certainly some pre-season reps. Quarterback development is so important in the NFL, and Milroe has the greatest opportunity to learn from a decent veteran, and in a great organization.
I'm excited about him. Definitely dual threat. Build him up the next couple of of seasons, and pure gold.
